Capacitive sensor

Capacitive sensors can detect most materials (conductive or non-conductive whether they are solid or liquid) without contact. The best detection is achieved with metal and water but also plastic, wood, and granulate can be detected. They work by measuring changes in capacitance as an object approaches the sensor's sensing face.
